Internet 2.0 Conference Reviews This Fraudulent & Spammy Email:
Inspecting this particular email, the first thing that should give it off as a scam is a grammatical error in the email address. Always verify the email address of the sender and make sure it matches our official conference email —“internet2.0conf.com” & not, “inteernet2conf.com.”
Moving on from that, perhaps the most concerning aspect of this email would be the attempt to collect unsolicited donations on the conference’s behalf. In no way does the Internet 2.0 Conference require you to pay any “mandatory donations” to participate in any of the conference’s programs. Here, we would like to stress the fact that our passes cover everything, including access to the panels, keynotes, and fireside chats, as well as the networking sessions. You do not have to worry about hidden charges!

Internet 2.0 Conference Spots Fraud Markers
The Internet 2.0 Conference understands that differentiating between legitimate and fraudulent emails can be tough. With most conferences offering discounts from time to time, falling for such spam emails can be easy.
Coming to the scam in question, our exclusive offers are only given out through official channels and verified third parties. We do not ask prospective exhibitors to pay right away. Instead, we share information about the various packages available to them and recommend the most suitable ones, based on their business needs. Make sure that you are extra careful with fishy links and attachments in emails sent by strangers. They might contain malware.
Given the number of scams being reported, we encourage people to actively reach out to our team and report scams and suspicious activities conducted under our conference name.
